Dr. Bharath Chelluboina is a Tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Illinois Chicago. Dr. Bharath is pharmaceuticals professional and completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Illinois. Dr. Bharath was a scientist and principal investigator in the department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Bharath is an expert in preclinical model microsurgeries and neuroscientist with expertise in studying brain damage in old age with comorbidities.

Dr. Bharath Brain Lab has been working in the field of neuroscience with a special focus on understanding stroke and other brain injury pathologies in aging and in the presence of comorbidities (diabetes, hypertension, and kidney disease). Stroke in aged patients limits the better use of existing acute stroke therapies and post-stroke management strategies. Aged patients are excluded from many clinical trials for safety reasons, and also existing comorbidities that interfere with the pharmacokinetics and dynamics of medications.
